About the Event

Mothers and Caregivers Panel features four women:

Dale Sakamoto Yoneda is the President of S & M Sakamoto, a longstanding local construction firm providing pre-construction, design and general contracting services. Dale received her degree in Business Administration – Marketing at the University of Hawaii in 1986 and has spent 36 years in the industry, 29 of them with S & M Sakamoto. Dale is instrumental in many industry associations including serving as President of GCA Hawaii and on the committees for the State of Hawaii DOE, the University of Hawaii, Hawaii Construction Career Days, the Carpenters Apprenticeship & Training Trust Fund and Market Recovery, the Mason’s Joint Apprenticeship & Training, and the Mason’s Pension & Annuity and Stabilization Fund.

Kaylie Breaux serves as the Power Systems Rental Representative for Hawthorne Cat, renting out and selling used generators, air compressors, load banks, and transformers across the state of Hawaii. After working in the public education system as a passionate special educator and foreign language teacher for a combined decade, she felt it was time to take a different career path. Teaching did not allow her to have a healthy work-life balance, and she wanted more time to be more invested in her kids and family. Shortly after moving from Illinois (the original Caterpillar headquarters) to Hawaii, she dove in the rental sales world representing her favorite equipment provider, and suddenly had to learn the technicalities of all things electricity and compressed air. She loves her job and thoroughly enjoys seeing projects across the islands and serving her customers, but her real passion in life is being “mommy” to Piper (age 9), Haven (age 6), and her soon to be newborn daughter, due in June.

Kehau Amorin is a Business Development & Sales Specialist and currently the Director of HPM Homes & Home Design Centers, statewide.  HPM is a company that has been serving Hawaii building needs for a 101 years, with humble beginnings on Hawaii Island.  There are currently 5 home design center facilities located in Hilo, Waimea, Kona, on the Big Island, in Lawai on Kauai and now Kihei Maui.   The home design centers offers a creative space with inspirational kitchen and bath displays, and houses industry experts in kitchen and bath & home design services for the past 25 years.  The Home Planning program has helped navigate the complexity of planning and design of new builds for over 40 years.  Kehau was the Director of Contractor Sales for Hardware Hawaii for 8 years and has over 20 years of Sales, Marketing, Business Development & Public Relations experience in the travel industry.  Kehau was the 2018/2019 President of the National Association of Women in Construction, Honolulu Chapter (now Hawaii Chapter) and served on many Boards and Councils in her career, including the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, Past Chair and now current Vice Chair of U.S.VETS Advisory Council, Kapolei Chamber of Commerce, AFCAC (Pacific Air Forces Civilian Advisory Council), HLTA, Friends of Hickam, Hawaii Business Travelers Association and many others. Kehau enjoys giving back and serving her community.  Kehau is a mother of 3 adult children and enjoys spending as much time as she can, with her 10 grandchildren and her two Frenchie fur babies, Charlie and Sammy.

Naomi Mercuris is a Project Manger for Hensel Phelps Construction Co. overseeing the completion of the Kailua Wastewater Treatment Plant Electrical Improvements Project. This project is providing a new 15 kV electrical backbone to new electrical equipment across the Plant. Prior to this she was the on-site superintendent managing the several renovation projects at the Kaiser Moanalua Hospital. In her 15-years with Hensel Phelps, Naomi has worked with several corporate clients including Blackstone (previously Hilton Grand Vacations), City and County of Honolulu and City of San Jose. She has extensive experience in developing and monitoring the project master schedules, estimating, job cost reports, and establishing and implementing effective communication procedure for all team components. As one of the senior women in the Pacific District she is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of women in construction and helping grow other women in the industry. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
